Does anyone know what the primary reasoning is for it being against ebay policy to have a listing of a raw note (or coin for that matter) where the seller provides a grade or reference to a grading company? Here's an example of a recently ended auction below:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1953992512...9SR_DhtaT6YA

At worst, this seems like click bait to me and I'd guess that it's more likely that the seller just copied the title of a previously listed item that actually was graded since on the "about the item" section it is correctly marked as ungraded and uncertified. I don't know how anyone would take a look at the pics of a raw coin or note and still think that it was a TPG item.

Just curious to know about this. Thanks in advance.

It is against ebay policy to give a numerical grade on a raw coin
or currency. The reason being anyone could put whatever grade
on a listing in the hope that someone not knowing enough would purchase it.
In this case it is too late to remove as the listing has ended.

JimmyD, I get where you're coming from but if ebay was worried about it then why wouldn't they also ban people from saying things like "Choice VF" in a listing which may not be a numeric grade but ties to 35.

John1, sorry for being dense but I'm not following you lol. Are there contests where you have to have a certain number of posts to be eligible or are you asking if I might host a contest in recognition of coming up on 100 posts?

Not disagreeing with what you are saying, I have sometimes wondered that myself
especially when you see worn coins graded uncirculated but that is their policy.
As far as the contest goes, John1 likes contests and is asking for you to have one,
but you are under no obligation either way.

But you don't have to have a contest or even a give-a-way if you don't want to.
