welcome! coins are a great lifelong hobby.
a coin collection is a marathon rather than a sprint. take your time. be patient. that coin isn't as rare as the seller says. dont stress that you missed the discount, there will be another good deal along soon enough.
even though they seem expensive the books are usually worth the money.
splurge on storage materials. nice holders. nice albums. you can spend a lot of time/money on your coins. treat them well!
buy a good loupe. the cheap ones will do the trick but you would be amazed by the improvement in optics you get by buying a better brand. I love my bousch and lomb 7x.
