So while buying 87 BU wheat rolls today I saw that the dealer also had a box of BU nickels. Lots of older dates but I just don't know much about them and was going to leave them alone, but remembered the 1946 D/horizontal D so I bought that roll.
Didn't find any of those but this RPM-004 was in there along with a late die stage RPM-005. I wondered what the RPM-004 was worth so looked on
ebay and found just one for sale, in BU GEM, for... $241.44. Whoa, now that's real money for an RPM not even in the Cherrrypickers' Guide.
Anyway, is that seller just in outer space or is this thing actually worth more than a couple bucks to whomever it is out there that collects Jefferson varieties?
