This coming February the mint is issuing "First Amendment to the United States Constitution 2023 Platinum Proof Coin - Freedom of Press". Has anyone heard if the mint is following up with coins to commemorate amendments that followed the First Amendment?

The Mint is launching a five-year/five-coin program highlighting different aspects of the First Amendment. I'm not sure about what's next after it concludes the First Amendment run.

In 1993, the Mint released a three-coin series for the Bill of Rights that might interest you. It features a Gold Half Eagle, a Silver Dollar and a CuNi Clad Half Dollar. They each commemorate the BoR as a whole.

Regarding this topic I am on the cusp of trying to collect all five of the series, I missed the 2021 release, but did get 2022 and 2023, so maybe I am in it for the long haul, anyhow just think 10 - 20. years from now having the whole series might be valuable...?
-at the very least it is 5 ounces of platinum.

And someone said to me, a coin guy, that getting coins like this graded is kind of "dumb." Is that true do you think?
-the two I have are in the COA boxes they were issued in and cannot, yet, find a 2021 just in the box, seems like right all graded.

My view - the vast majority of modern US Mint products all grade MS or PR 69 or 70 so there is not much to differentiate them raw versus in a TPG slab. Save your money if you collect them for pleasure.

I'll go one step further - nearly every example also sells for less on the resale market then the original issue price.

Sure there are a few exceptions - but the general rule holds in most cases so it's even less expensive to acquire these if you are willing to wait 6 months to a year post issue.

One collector's perspective: I enjoy collecting the modern series - none of my coins are graded.
