I am a long time coin collector who has decided to try something new and different. I have started bank rolling $1 for birthday, stair step, * , numerous same numbers etc. My problem is I am not sure what is worth keeping to make a few bucks on. Is the E mint anything special? Are the bills 2006- current circulated worth keeping? Certainly. Looking for old bills and silver certificates. An type and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

new and perfectly crisp notes are the ones you are most likely to find that might carry a small premium, after that notes with a star at the end of its serial number, after that errors, almost everything else carries no premium, even notes as old as the various 1950 series

Some good general advice from Nick10. Currency books like Paper Money of The United States 22nd edition can give valuable info for a collector on currency values and which to look for, but its around $45 new for a print and less for a ebook version. There is a cheaper version like A Guide Book of United States Paper Money 7th Edition that have less grade values such as only circulated and uncirculated vs many different sub grades and no colonial currency but has great info otherwise. This will go into star notes, blocks and other important info on finding valuable currency far beyond serial numbers that are interesting or fancy.
