Meiji Era

The Meiji era lasted from 1868 until 1912. It is known as the first half of the Empire of Japan and during this time Japanese people became part of the modernization in which big changes took place in politics, economy, foreign relations and much more. Not everyone welcomed these new changes, as there were many traditionalists like the samurai that were against the modernization. What do you think about the modernization and would you be part of the people that welcomed it or would you prefer the traditions like the samurai did?
