2000 Maryland State Quarter Obverse In God we Trust doubling. 2017 Fredric Douglas on reverse has maybe lamination on beard.

That is Machine Doubling on the IGWT.
These quarters are clad so there cannot be a lamination issue.

I agree with JimmyD. It may be easier generally to look up the specific coin in the book strike it rich with pocket change 5th edition (which has many of the main ones to look for) and additionally/or online free sites like https://www.doubleddie.com/ and http://varietyvista.com/index.htm to see if there is known doubling first on that particular coin to attempt to match it to. Yes its possible but rare that there is a new find thats not in the listings and so posting them is also good to get opinions or to validate when you think you found something that matches a known listing, but looking them up first might save a lot of time as the majority of the time when its not listed it will turn out to be something not worthwhile to spend alot of time on such as machine doubling/die deterioration doubling etc https://www.error-ref.com/die-deter...on-doubling/ that will have minor value at very best scenario.

That could be an interior die break on the Douglas.
