Quote: Not much happened during the Holiday season, but my first two new purchases of 2023 are the 1973 British Virgin Islands proof set and the 1973 Panama proof set, both minted by the Franklin Mint. Outstanding start to the year!

The third set I acquired in 2023 is the 1973-D Proof set of Germany.

The following coin set is probably one of my favorites: the 1973 New Zealand Proof Set. The designs seem very well executed. I especially like the 10 Cents coin.

Quote: Next up: the 1973 Cayman Islands proof set. Excellent! Inspired by this topic no doubt, I found myself looking at sets like these at the coin show last weekend. If I had found any for my birth year I would have bought them.

Enjoying watching! 1. I was an occasional buyer of Franklin mint issues in the 1970s. I've got a BVI proof set (I don;t recall which year), raw proofs lodged in that pseudo-velvet, which was not very kind to a few of the coins. 2. The Nepal set is great! I had an UNC set from the 1960s in a cardboard card placed in a PVC pouch (with predictable results ) 3. If that's Allens in Westerville, Ohio, they are my LCS.
