HELLO all

I am trying to find out if there IS or IS NOT a 2023 1/10 oz silver Britannia! I am seeing some on ebay BUT no place else online, including The Royal Mint's website.

I find today's web search results absolutely useless regardless of which one I use, so I am asking here in case someone knows for sure.

EDIT - I just noticed a 1/4 oz coin as well on ebay?

Hmmm... no info, eh? I kept searching and the three websites who claimed to have these 2023 fractionals all had the exact same, or very similar, text, which makes me wonder if they are even real companies!

The Royal Mint has occasionally issued fractional silver Britannia, but not regularly and I think low mintage. There's a site called the complete guide to the silver Britannia, here's the fractional page....

livingwater - hey, that link you shared DOES mention 1/4 and 1/10 oz silver Britannias for 2023! "Unknown Mintage"...

It took over a month but I DID get a response from The Royal Mint: "I'm afraid we have no connection with the ebay sellers so cannot comment on these products. We have not yet announced this product but please keep an eye on our website for future updates. "

I'm finding fractional's in gold but, not silver for the 2023. Perhaps it's because there are 2 Britannia's for this year. QEII and Charles. Maybe they will come out with the silver fractional's at a later date. I was looking on The Royal Mint site and didn't see any (yet).

I'm skeptical about the ebay coins since I'm not finding them in any of the major dealers or The Royal Mint. One of those ebay dealers didn't even have them in the correct capsules. I find that odd for such a popular coin.

When in doubt, check with the British Royal Mint themselves. I think that you can e-mail them. Let us know what you find out.

Sorta sounds like "yeah, they are coming but I can't tell you so" ;-) I just like small coins and being silver adds to things. The same size platinum ones look the same but cost so much more... yet look the same... Now, if platinum wasn't silver... the color... not the metal...

There's an ever so slight difference in color between silver coins and platinum. I have a Platinum Philharmonic and I had to label it as such because it's so difficult to tell. I keep losing money on that coin in today's Plat market. I love the coin but, a little increase in metal value would be nice. It was a gift for Hubby.

We like to buy little silver bars with fractional's so that we could (if we wanted too) break them down. That's not to say that we don't collect coins in fractional's. 1/10th oz are easy to store and cheaper to collect. I stack those little buggers. A Britannia would be nice to add. I hate the word "soon"! yadayadayda
