Hello,

I'm currently looking at purchasing a 2003-P and 2003-D Sacagawea BU Dollar from an online store that I have had great success with. This online store is selling these coins for $17, that includes shipping, which brings the price per coin to $8.50. The "retail" price of this coin is set at $5 and the average ebay price, with shipping is $4. So, am I over paying for this coin or is this just a case of store overhead needing to be met?

Thanks,
Rich

I'd say you are paying a bit too much, here's a good place;

This place has them for $13.40 shipped for the pair, and I have had good luck with them.

Hello,

I made a mistake in my original post. I was actually looking at the 2003 coins. I fixed that in my original post and actually spoke to the owner of the store and he told me that those particular coins grade at an MS-65 if not higher. I'm still conflicted but isn't the extra $2, minus shipping, worth the great customer service and coin quality?

Thanks,
Rich

Over pay for anything only brings higher prices for everything else. If you could sell a used stick of chewing gum for $10 wouldn't you wonder if you should now try for $100 the next time?
And coin dealer that finds he can sell coins for more than they are worth will, might, could or should sell all coins for more than they are worth.
