Picked up a nice 1946 Dollar. My photos tend to subdue lustre but let me tell you it has VERY bright original cartwheel lustre on both sides. Also the hair is a weak strike, it's not circulation wear as might be assumed from the photos. I'll upload a video tonight to show lustre. What do you think it grades?
I'll say XF-45. There is weakness in the profile of the canoe and load as well. If the Obv is due to weak strike, the Rev should be better. BTW, a great year and matches the UNC one that I have inset into a canoe paddle that I carved with a spoke shave .... my birth year.
It doesn't look MS to me either. If I take the statement that there is absolutely no wear at face value then I'd have to say MS 60-61. It looks more like AU50 to me though.
Eek, looks like the photos were showing it as way more worn than it is. Sorry about that. Here's a video to show the lustre. I'm at MS61 or MS62.
