Won a lot of capped bust dimes recently. One had a date that at first sight appeared to only have two digits. On slightly closer observation, it appeared to have a 2 after the 18. Rats, no 1811 or 1809, I thought to myself. But wait, it could be an 1822. After a long time under the loupe, I figured out that it wasn't. It was an 1828. What I did not know was that 1828 is a better date. The coin is junk...in PO-1 condition, with multiple punch marks on the back. But hey, better than an 1821, I guess....
