I was looking at some purchase receipts on some things I had and gold has sure jumped in the last couple of years. I bought a 1996 1/10 ounce gold proof for 78 bucks 2 years ago. now I see they are selling for 150. I wish I had bought more I also remember before I knew a lot about coins a guy @ the swap shop in South Florida selling rolls of walkers for 60 bucks a roll. Things have really gone up since then. Do you guys think that junk silver is selling as high as it is b.c of the economy? I mean people are swallowing it up but a couple of years ago you could buy it all day long at cheaper prices

Here is an interesting thing about Gold prices. Way, way back in the late 60's and early 70's I decided to start purchasing Gold Charms for a young lady. One for each special occation. They were expensive at the time but I thought it was an investment. Gold at the time was $35/ounce. We married and when our son was born in the early 70's, the charm for that was way over $100 and only had one ounce of Gold in it.
One small thing to remember though is when you give something to a woman it is considered GONE.
