Hi there, my first post on your fine forum
Does anyone have any info on the following note?

There is nothing on the back.

Yeah..... I knew it was going to be this know when I read the title.

Unfortunately, it's a copy (sr no 8894).

Nevertheless, this could be considered the first national money issued by the Bank of US, spearheaded by the federalists and Alex Hamilton in order to print money and finance the growing economy. This bank survived and even was passed a second time (the 2nd Bank of the US) until it was killed by Jackson due to the specie crisis that ensued because of too much paper money.

Anyways, this was backed by bonds of the US, not specie (I don't think at that time of the BoUS)

Wow! 11 minutes after post and I already have the info I wanted. That's service :) Thank you very much wd1040, I appreciate your expertise and fast response. I guess I can hold off on that trip to Vegas I had planned with the loot I was going to sell it for LOL.

Yeah, I mean if you have one of those, you must have some other things because those were (as I read) distributed during the 60s. (At least some old circulating silvers!)

Soo I guess the question is now... DO you have anything else? Post 'em here!
