Pictured here is a 2005-D
LMC with the Chicago White Sox logo counter stamped on it. (Actually I believe that it's not stamped but laser etched.)
There are some obvious plating issues where the zinc is exposed to the outside world and the inevitable is happening. I'm curious if anyone has any clever ideas as to how to possibly save the coin. It's not the coin that has any value it's the stamp. If anyone could think of a way to clean the zinc without damaging the plating any further and then a way to "seal" the coin preventing the corrosion from returning and advancing. I have never seen another one of this particular stamp celebrating the Chicago White Sox's 2005 World Series win before. Any ideas no matter how whacky will be entertained. Thank you in advance.
