Or are the 'Filled S' only for proofs?

I would say no... The one I had before I knew what they were the s looks like a blob or a tear drop kinda u could see it was an S but it was filled in totally... Yours is very clearly an s. But I could be wrong lets see what others say see if I have learned anything...

It does look like a blob! I'll upload better pictures later on! And is it only supposed to be on proofs or on normals too? Do you know?

Well it has to be either a type 1 or type 2 MM as there were no other options to choose from.
the type 2 was the clear S with a flat spine. and the type 1 was the 'filled S with a pointy spine - So given these 2 choices, I say it is the type 1.
