Hi everyone!

We have a proof coin and looking at CV magazine, we were looking at what the coin is worth or valued. We saw in the magazine PF69DC.

Um, can someone please tell us what the "DC" stands for? I'm guessing "Deep Cameo" ( have to admit at first I thought it stood for District of Columbia but Deep Cameo sounds alot better at the advice of my wife )

And I want to thank everyone who responds. Thanks for your time, and for your help.

It also stands for Direct Current!

But in the case of PF69DC, it is deep cameo.

From what people say about us Numismatist, I would think it stood for DULL COLLECTORS.
And you would be amazed at how many say this is a dumb hobby making DC Dumb Collector.
I like Deep Cameo much better.

Hey there Carl. I have to say, I like Deep Cameo much better. We have to say, that we've been into coins for a short time. And before we got into coins, we thought that coin collectors were dull, boring and had the personality of an accountant ( no offense to any accountants out there ) But the coins and collecting them add a little excitement to our lives that were already kinda dull. ( Go to work, come home, eat dinner and soon off to bed )

The graders use DC for Deep cameo and UDM for Ultra Deep Cameo. Most modern proofs will be considered UDM

Not sure if we have said in the past
If not, here it is.
One more thing is we all sort of forgot is on the far left is a bunch of things listed for reference purposes. One of them says GLOSSARY. One time I asked about something and someone told me to just look there. And was I shocked at how much stuff is there.
Of course I have the excuse of old age.

Thanks Carl. Maybe its because I have the blinders on and cant see to the far left, or maybe its just age. Thanks for your help! :)
