Does anyone have any information on what denominations of PNG coins were released for circulation after 2010. Numista seems to be behind on these coins and I can't find much on the internet. I just received a 2021 20 Toea and that is not listed. Wondering if it is still the same KM# as the earlier coins. Still has the same design, but not sure if it is the same composition. Any help would be appreciated. Edited by triggersmob 03/10/2023 11:25 pm

Franklin Mint produced some PNG coins in standard circulation metals, with very low mintage numbers, =in the hundreds. Very surprisingly, despite their great rarity, they are not very valuable.
With the 2021 20 Toea coin pictured, it could? be that the final mintage of the 2021 date has not yet been completed. Often, coins bearing a particular date can be produced up to one or two years later, if the dies have not been worn out.
That sort of delayed mintage often happens with Australian circulation coins, and final mintage numbers may not be known for up to one or two years later. A case in point is the 2019 Australian 50 Cents, with the Jody Clark obverse.
So hang onto the 20 Toea pictured anyway; you never know, it may? yet still turn out to be scarce

I will definitely be hanging on too it Sel, but I was more wondering what has happened with coins after 2010. Have they not issued many coins in the last 13 years.

According to the Royal Australian Mints 2021-2022 annual report, the RAM minted 19.325.000 20 Toea coins for PNG during the time frame that the 2021-22 annual report covers. The coins are made of Nickel Plated Steel.
I did a quick glance through the RAM's annual reports from 2011 on. The RAM intermittently produced 5, 10, 20 and 50 Toea coins for PNG starting 2014.

Thank you Ralf. I guess they would still be KM#5a then, if they are nickel plated steel. I'll have to see if I can get it added to Numista. Cheers

Quote: Mintages and new years now all added to Numista. Pending review by the referee? Quote: Now you can update the mintage figures for all Australian standard circulating coins since 2019. Considering the amount of ''remediations'' of previous mintage figures the RAM has done in the 2021/22 annual report I would wait at least until the 2022/23 comes out. Doing it now would be a waste of time, in my opinion.
