See below for the latest from the U.S. Mint's website on the production of the American Silver Eagle Proof and Uncirculated Coins.

"Production of United States Mint American Eagle Silver Proof and Uncirculated Coins has been temporarily suspended because of unprecedented demand for American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. Currently, all available silver bullion blanks are being allocated to the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin Program, as the United States Mint is required by Public Law 99-61 to produce these coins "in quantities sufficient to meet public demand . . . ."
The United States Mint will resume the American Eagle Silver Proof and Uncirculated Coin Programs once sufficient inventories of silver bullion blanks can be acquired to meet market demand for all three American Eagle Silver Coin products."

My take on this from the mint is that we may not see these coins produced this year. I hope that I am wrong but with the demand being so high for precious metals because of the shape of the economy. Everybody wants to put there money into Bullion coinage and not into the stock market. The mint has to follow the public law 99-61 which says that the mint must produce the bullion coinage in sufficient quantities to meet the public demand. I know of several people that I work with that are pulling their moneys out of the market and purchasing bullion coinage. I don't think we will see these other coins until this behavior stops or slows down.
