Wondering what's going on with this nickel. Mainly the peripheral and the texture. I know it's most likely not worth anything. Looking to learn and expand my knowledge. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Photos need much improvement, what is your set up? Looks like maybe a VLDS of a Dryer Coin of some type/stage.

Hard to tell from photo but whatever the cause, it is PMD.
Why are the photos out of round, that doesn't help in
determining the cause.

is the coin elongated like the photos? that's just damage, otherwise there's lots of orangte peel and such from a very overworked die, which is all too common on nickels from that decade
