Hi! Please who can help me with the ID, value & authenticity (REAL or FAKE?!) of this thin silver coin? Dimensions, almost like a british schilling.
Thank you so much!
Andi

Hi Andi,

What you have is a replica of a 10th century Eric Bloodaxe penny. That it is a replica is seen from the too perfect circularity, the not quite right shape of the letters, and that it is signed by the modern artist who manufactured it. "GRVNAL MON" on the reverse is short for Grunal Moneta, a guy who has specialized in reproductions of hammered coins. You can google him and see him in action.

Not really. If it is indeed silver (he apparently makes some replicas in silver), then it at least has the silver value (which is modest for a thin coin like this).
