American Numismatic Society - Liv M. Yarrow, professor at the Graduate Center and Brooklyn College at CUNY and ANS Fellow, will discuss her recent work using pXRF at Yale, Rutgers, and Princeton to gather comparative data for previously tested objects in the British Museum and from an Italian excavation. She will focus on contextualizing Roman aes grave with currency bars and aes rude, as well as the next steps in the research project. She will also describe how one piece, long thought to be an imitation, was authenticated and traced back to its eighteenth-century excavation in Tuscany.
