wonder why they haven't continued this to the women quarters?
I wonder if they determined these would be low volume sellers with silver being priced so high.

Not sure how I missed this topic oriinally, given that I collected the entire series of Proof 5-oz pucks.

That's a nice looking medal.

It's not a medal; the 5-oz ATB Quarters are legal tender. Although it may as well be a medal, as you'd have to be a fool to spend 5 oz of silver for $0.25.

Personally, I'm glad they haven't continued them. It felt like getting a raise when the series was over. And as jbuck mentioned, the current price of silver and mint price hikes would price these out of many people's budgets (mine included). For reference, the series ended with the 5-oz Proof pucks at $229 each. Silver spot is about the same as it was back in April of 2021 when the series concluded, but the price hikes from the mint over the past 2 years lead me to believe that similar pucks would be at least $300 if on sale now.

On a side note, they spent a LOT of money (which I'm sure has long since been recovered) on the special press(es) that are capable of creating 3-inch coins. Are these presses just gathering dust now?

Also, for those of you who haven't seen the running ATB thread, check this out for lots of eye candy, lively discussion, info, and data. Grab a couple cups of coffee, it's a LOOOOOOOONG topic that spanned 10 years.

Cheers y'all and happy Fiday!
