A member at my job collects half dollars he looks for silver he buys boxes at another financial institution and brings the rejects to our coin machine. We have talked about coins and he knows I like errors. About a week ago he came in to the branch and tossed this half dollar to me that he found in his boxes. I know it's not a huge deal with missing FG but it's again cool. And I don't collect for profit I do for the cool looking coins.
I always say, Collect what you like. Yes, there is a market for error and variety coins, no matter what Old-timers say. If not, there wouldn't be Variety Vista, Wexler's, VAMs, Cherry Picker's Guide, etc. It's fun and adds to the hunt.
