A " Struck Through Grease" found in change when it was new. I thought the reverse was scraped until I noticed the missing beads. Then saw beads were also missing on the obverse and the missing details of the Queen.
Can anyone explain the strange ridges running diagonally on both sides ? They aren't scratches as most are raised.

I think a very late (worn) die state, combined with (possibly?) Struck Through Grease or oil.
Despite the fine striations, I do not think that the dies have been modified in any additional way; the coin itself may? have suffered from abrasion.

Could it have been from a thin planchet or one that was not entirely flat? Not enough metal?

Yes I was going to suggest a thin planchette for the weak strike and missing areas, an accurate weight would be helpful.

weak strike IMO if weight is correct. The ridges are rolling lines still on the blank.

The weight is a normal 2.09 gms. I just noticed while weighing it that the rim is very weakly struck so that may be the answer.
(edit; just saw the rolling lines comment )
Here's the feeble rim.
