Oriental Medallion Or Coin? (Id: Japanese-Occupied Korea Census Taker Medal)

captainmandrake1 Pillar of the Community United States 878 Posts	Posted 04/12/2023 5:37 pm I've seen many of these medals and you might be right in thinking it might not be Chinese. It seems more in the style of Japanese or Japanese-Occupied areas of China like Manchukuo. They were made to commemorate special occasions, battles, etc. I believe that the Japanese script of the time used Chinese characters instead of the simplified Japanese letters used today.
