Hey hey diggers! and collectors too!
Just back in from another good day of digging up some coins to share with you all.
Back on some old colonial sites and even got some hits on a Victorian site too.
My day began in big old wheat stubble field that held both an early colonial site and a later Victorian site that held on until the early 1900s.
Coin finds at the colonial site produced something new for me...a British East India Company halfpenny token.
Back in the earlier days they would use any coin available to make change so I guess that's why it was here.
Finds at the Victorian site were basically a few crusty large cents and a small cent too.
However, when I was on my way back to the car (OMWBTTC is a term often heard in detecting lol) I got a decent signal and had to see what it was, well it was my silver for the day. I was so surprised to see the 1875 date..I knew I had a good one!
I was just telling another member and detectorist that you had to persevere to find the key dates in good shape (this one is for you DOCC) Altough I didnt get great condition I'm pleased as punch to have saved a key date from the ground.
I'll be back again to see what else there is and hopefully itll something awesome!
