I'd say UNC, but it's had some rough handing. Lots of scratches/dings. It's also the normal date, not the narrow one.

EF 45 , obviously circulated at some point .
These are quite common in the Nick you show us .
AU/ Unc coins are available quite readily at way below trend

Luster is disturbed and surfaces are scuffed.
Absolute minimal wear on the ermine band and eyebrow, the first points of wear on these coins.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

How many of you have seen the 1945 narrow date version of this guy. Considered to be quite rare - one of the rarer varieties in the Newfoundland series. I've got two, one is about F15, the other VF20. The highest graded one I've ever seen is an EF - that's in Barry Borselino's collection.
