After reading all the replies, and buying cotton gloves, I've decided to start my own grading company! Oh yeah, I have a magnifying glass, and a blue book ... so I should be just as qualified like the other TPG's we've mentioned, right?!

Hahahahhahahahaha ... wow, I love this thread! Checked out WCG ... what a joke - how do they expect to get any business at $50 PER COIN, MINIMUM of 10!! So they make $500 per person per submission, minus the $2.00 for their 9 slabs (I'm probably close), wait about 30 days and then send them back, with one deemed as ungradable?!

I love buying on ebay (hate selling) and I'm so thankful to everyone that has posted so far! Warning to our 'bad-boy' list: "Be careful, or be X'd!"

I actually think the $50 per coin is to intentionally not have submissions. I think this is another case of a single person slabbing a bunch of coins in basement then selling them. Browsing through the store I have only found a just a few coins not graded MS66 or MS67.

The sad part is that SOOO many people are bidding on these coins as we speak...

Your right you can probably start your own TPG and start making a lot of money....

The guy on ebay selling World Coin Grading Slabs has hundreds of feedback from $.01-$.05 lots with free shipping. apparently to get feedback rating up.

Looking at those slabs it is a total joke. I still don't see how people can be so uninformed and actually give positive feedback to this guy. What a shame. It makes me mad every time I think about it.

It looks like WCG really is going global - there is an Australian based ebayer (maybe the same guy) selling plenty of these - http://myworld.ebay.com.au/precious-silver-co/

Sad thing is that he has 100% feedback so far after selling over 250 coins.

I nearly got taken in by this, even though I thought it was too good to be true (which always sets off alarm bells) since I couldn't work out what was wrong with the coins.

But thankfully I messaged the ebayer asking for a few close up photos of the coins and he replied with this:

hi

its easier if you save the picture (right click with your mouse on picture)to your computer and use a viewing application to make it bigger

regards

- precious-silver-co

Which wasn't the most reassuring reply... So I held off from purchasing and finally I read this post and the scam now makes sense.

Keep fighting the good fight guys!

There are sites on the net that actually will sell Ebayers ratings. That might be what he-she has done

That is just unbelievable ... that you can 'buy' ratings?! I've been busting my hump selling everything imaginable for over a year and just reached my hard-earned 500!

I researched that seller in Australia - the policy for coins/currency is worded differently for ebay.com.au than on ebay.com. They have SGS slabs too!

However, there is a valid violation category for what they're doing: Listing Policy Violations - Misleading Title - Deceptive Title. If WCG in not an approved ebay TPG, then they cannot quote a US or PCGS Value in the title. Am I correct? Well, I'm gonna try to report one. $22,000.00 MS67 haha ... then why are they selling for $247.00? Ok, back to work.
