Copper coins are cleaned differently than other metals. Classic EAC collectors would use some Blue Ribbon and a horse hair brush to remove any unwanted material on a copper surface. Hairlines would not be visible like a wipe with a cloth. Perhaps Verdicare or a similar product will remove the remaining substance? Suffering from bust half fever. I have Verdi-care, I may try putting a drop on it and see if the gunk can come off (but not sure yet). But It may look much better with the junk removed, but I'm afraid I'll wind up with areas of untoned fields. I may buy a very junky cheap coin and test it on that first.
