Not sure what this is , found this also looking through a bag of old pennies, probably just damage just wondering what would cause the face to be missing acid ? just a bunch of weird stuff going on through out the whole coin, sorry if its just junk ahahha thanks!

It's made of copper plated steel and the plating is very thin. You have a penny that's rusting from the inside out because the Obv copper plating wore or was scraped off.

That coin has a zinc core rather than steel.
Still it's rotting from the inside out.
Cupholder coin.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Hahaha thanks yea looks completely destroyed was just curious as to how it could get to that point ...the cup holder theory makes sense. But didn't know if that was something that could happen at the mint
