We all like to have a comment on a subject, whether it be for learning themselves or teaching others. We do mean well for everyone here. Some folks will post small snippets of info, to 'mark a topic so they can follow it easier in their list if they are interested in a subject or coin. I really see it in the hair/cap, and the size of the mint mark. I thought the date looked large due to circulation flattening, but now I see there is more going on. Of course I would have never paid $350 for that coin even if it were real, but that is just me. @makkie - sorry you feel that way, but I think we have all felt bullied here at one time or another. This will be a fun education experience and will also prevent another future collector from purchasing a counterfeit coin. Suffering from bust half fever. He had five different people telling him the coin was fake when one would have sufficed. No wonder he felt bullied. Obviously--as has already been stated--no one was trying to bully him. But writing can be a funny thing. If one's words are not chosen carefully, their tone can be misconstrued. I can see how some of the responses--and I'm not going to name names--could have seemed combative. It's an open forum and everyone wants to contribute with their opinion. But if someone has already addressed the issue--in this case, the coin is fake--it's usually not constructive for others to pile on. To a newbie, it can definitely feel uncomfortable.
