I bought this from a person that inherited it. I am looking for some feedback on this coin.I really dont want to send it in to get it graded. It seems like a long costly process.I did not pay much for it in with a group of coins. Thoughts on possible grade, value, authenticity ? It weighs 2.5 grams. Seems pretty clean. Thanks in advance.

It looks like a nice Mercury dime with some value. I don't think it is worth getting graded, but that is my opinion. What is going on with the 8 in 1928? Can you post a closeup of it?

This coin is without a doubt counterfeit, the date is completely off.

I agree that it's not a very good counterfeit. What's coming out of her nose? Why is the mint mark so huge? Etc.

Counterfeit.
Look at the disconnect of certain features such as the R in LIBERTY and features of the phrygian cap.
Typical markers of Chinese made counterfeits, not overpolished die.

I paid like $5 for it. Let me post one more pic. and see what you guys think.I have looked at it under a usb microscope and see no evidence of alteration.it also weighs exactly what it should weigh. If it IS counterfeit, no real monetary loss here,This is the kind of feedback I needed,Give me a few minutes I will post another pic of the date.

I don't believe that coin is authentic. What's up with a $350 ebay listing if you don't even know if the coin is fake?

Whats up is I had people telling me it WAS real. That is why I am posting here, and came to get info.If I was a scammer I would have left it up on ebay and never registered here and sought information from people more knowledgeable than me. It has been pulled off ebay.I have been on ebay a long time and have 100% feedback.I didn't get that feedback by being a scammer. Thanks and have a great day!

There wouldn't be any "alteration" - counterfeiters make dies by transferring from real coins. Accurate weight doesn't mean much, these often weigh close enough. Check if the coin is thicker than it should be, they are often thicker so their base metal coin weighs accurately.

Edit: I don't think anyone is accusing you of being a scammer. I can see that you got the $350 from a low MS price guide value, which is understandable.

Wow brilliant....I thought we had already determined it was counterfeit. But thanks for the info.No more is needed. I have provided all the information needed, and more explanation than is necessary. If anyone feels the need to belittle, berate,or bully, you should pick someone else.I don't do bullying very well.I came here for some information on a coin, got it, and I appreciate it. Maybe I came the wrong place.Have a good day!
