Hi all,

On the Numista site several dates have a KM#24.3. As usual, no information to work out the difference between KM#24.1 and KM#24.3. When I checked my 2007 edition of Krause there is no KM#24.3. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

My Krause book (2013) doesn't have a "KM 24.3" listed; neither does NGC, or world coin gallery. I would put it down as a typo in Numista, except that it seems to be aimed at one specific year (1979), for coins used in mint sets. There may have been something spotted on those specific coins (a mint mark, weight difference, etc) that justified the extra variety notation.

Numismaster also doesn't have anything other than KM# 24.1 and 24.2.

Have been in contact with the moderator and have come to the conclusion that this was a "created" KM number and the entry is in fact a duplicate of the Coin Alignment as the mintage number is the same. It comes down to the original moderator who allowed the entry without checking and requiring proper descriptors and/or photos explaining the difference and the apparently non-existent KM number. The entry has now been deleted.
