I was looking at my Jefferson "Draped Bust Liberty" proof, and something occured to me; "why is that the half-ounce First Spouse only has a denomination value of $10 dollars, versus the St Gaudens type bullion (1986 - date) half-ounce, has a denomination of $25"?

success,

Interesting.
The quarter-ounce AGE coins are $10 face.
Something fishy here!

oh yeah! I wonder why... $10 is for 1/4oz AGEs...

I think it's just the legislation... unless we uncovered a conspiracy...

(Maybe Someday the gold recall will be done as denomination, so for the new ones we'll only get $10! )

That's interesting, considering a 1 ounce Buffalo is also 24k but has a denomination of $50.00.

I think wd1040 hit it- probably just the wording of the legislation and someone forgot to follow precedent
The actual percentage of gold should have no bearing since the Gold Eagles(22kt) and the Buffalos(24kt) had the same denominations for the fractional issues.
