I had this coin graded a while back. I have no idea it's value. What do you guys think? I see thick planchet wheat pennies going for a couple hundred bucks but they aren't proof. Is this as rare as I think? The coin appeared to be the thickness of a nickel before I sent it off to PCGS.

Thoughts?

*** Edited by Staff to Add Denomination to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

greeting AdamN, looking at a weight chart for that year is stated to be
2.50grm +- .100
2.40grm low side
2.60grm High side
Yours is .05 higher still. So I would say uniqueness adds a premium of sorts but this is not my strongest field so lets let the experts "weight in ?"

Boy .05 isn't that much out. I don't know what the premium for this would be.

@Cujohn so given this being a Copper Clad coin,is it unusual to have the core...being zinc, out of tolerance. I would have to believe the extra thickness did not come from the cladding but from the zinc core. IDK

Zincolns are electroplated with copper not clad. .05 is so small that I would think it could be either.

I will intervene here about clad. Clad meaning it is union of two different materials by different processes. Electroplating it is a form of cladding. But I can say that it is better to name by the process denomination.
