I'd like to get a general idea of the cost of a complete Ike set, Type 1 & 2 all in BU, plus Silver and proof. It comes in a Harris folder with all of the holes filled.

All I ususally get are the Silver or proof Ikes, but this seems like a decent deal.

Any help I appreciate.

I hope that if this set includes the proofs and NIFC uncirculated coins it is in an album and not a folder!

My guess is about $150. A rough estimate based on FMV from Numismedia.

This is assuming that all of the business strikes are around MS60 and the proofs are not CAM/DCAM (meaning that the silver issues have the normal "clouding" problems).

Most coin magazine ads are currently selling the album set for around $199. A year ago those same ads were asking around $225 so demand must be declining.

Based on this you probably could do better at a show or auction and get a price closer to what Jbuck quoted.

As with many modern series, actual prices you pay are all over the place.

The 1973 silver proof is the coin to verfiy in this set as that could be 1/5 of the total value of the set. After that, the rest of the proofs - both Clad and Silver. Finding/buying the Unc business strikes is no big deal or costly adventure.

So, to round up the wagons, $150 - $199 would be a very decent price if the proofs (especially the '73 silver) are in great shape. And I also agree that the prices for Ikes do seem to be coming down somewhat - not considering super high end MS-xx slabbed Ikes.

I have noticed that the price gap between the more common grades and the upper high grades is widening. Demand for lower end specimens is decreasing, demand for high end specimens is increasing.
