Seems to be a chemical treatment that will adversely affect coins, no matter what they say. If it removes tarnish, it's removing coin metal.
Hard pass from me.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

100% pure Acetone is the only thing I know that's safe if used correctly. Using anything other than 100% pure Acetone is harmful to the coin and will ruin it.

Quote:
Acetone won't hurt a silver or gold coin and it will dissolve many impurities that are sitting on the surface, like dirt and PVC residue. It will not affect toning (patina) or remove metal from the coin. You only need to rinse the coin in cool, clear water after briefly soaking the coin in acetone. Put the coins on a sheet of aluminum foil to dry. Do not rub, or blot the coins with a cloth or paper towel. Since the surface metal is not affected, this will not cause the coin to appear "cleaned". Note that acetone will not "cure" or improve damage already present from PVC or from previous cleaning. It is just a solvent. The coin may still be rejected by third party grading services.

If you are going to rinse with water, I recommend that you use distilled water. Depending on where you are at, ordinary tap water may contain all sorts of substances that are not good for metal surfaces.

If you are going to rinse with water...
I like to beat this dead horse, but I never use water (distilled or otherwise). I rinse with fresh acetone (that is, not the same acetone just used to soak the coin). It will dry way faster than water, so there is no need to "pat dry" which can cause its own damage (depending on with what the patting is done).
