Hiya ladies and gents. Not sure if there's a better forum for this question, so point it out if so.

So, Reading up on coing errors over the years and acronyms like DDO and DDR. I found the Glossary here to define most of the acronyms and abbvreviations, but I see specific coin errors like FS-101 or FS-104 for example. I can't find what these specific error codes relate too. Guess I could Google them one by one, but is there an easier way?

In short, and I'm by no means an expert,

A notation such as FS-101 relates to the numerical variety of the coin it may be assigned to according to experts in Die Varieties of United States coins written by Bill Fivaz and J.T. Stanton, hence the "FS" acronym.

@MajorPatW
If I may add to what southsav put so well, is I believe if you should go visit some websites that are ran by well know coin experts and examiners. They have what I call the master lists of know or "Listed Errors & Varieties" they assigned a notation in their own flavor if you will, such as FS-01-1955-501 or 1MM-001 or WRPM-001 lol or CONECA-1. Whew! all of those are assigned to a single year and coin, all would start or end with the 1955S designation of the coins year. So it can be a little overwhelming,and with that lets go to

https://conecaonline.org/
Well I`m sure others can suggest more places but my point here is to say to just browse these sights, pick a coin denomination or look up your own on multiple sites to get an idea how the different notations work for the same coin or are unique to others. Hope this helps at least a little .

Major Pat,
The links that Dutch Tiger posted up will contain the answers you are seeking,. In short, they are attribution numbers or classifications of errors that have been found. DDO, DDR, RPM (Re-Punched Mintmark) and others. It is fairly easy and confusing all at the same time.
