Saw this cartoonish copy of the Sikh Multan AV rupee being sold on ebay as well as few other sites. I informed the seller that this is a forgery, but he said that he worked as an NGC grader before and started abusing me. So, wanted to post this for awareness since I've seen more of these pop up across different ebay stores in the last 5-6 months. I was also very worried since an ex-NGC grader was not able to spot this forgery. So was concerned that some of these could end up in TPG holders.

to the Forum, trangebari, and thank you for alerting the community to this seller and the fake he's peddling.

Perhaps that's why he's an EX-NGC grader....
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Even if one was fooled by the date side, the inscription is WAY off from the genuine examples.

Yes, the reverse is very badly copied, but even the obverse is very poorly imitated.

In the original design, the Sikh symbol of Pipal leaf is clear. But in this copy it looks like a tennis racquet or a mosquito bat.
