I think this nick can make the coin only get a detail grade. However the coin is definitely worth more than the gold value.

It's not exactly a rare coin, and it's definitely details grade. It's worth more than melt, but so are all quarter eagles.

Agree that the ding details it. Retail value probably somewhere between $400 and $500 if genuine.
