1982 Australian 50 Cent Coin Question

Hi Everyone,
New here and first post. I found this coin in my spare change today and wanted to get some information on it. Seems like it was partially struck with a different die at some point. Its a 1982 50 cent coin - the commonwealth Games version.

If someone could please give me some background, that would be fantastic.

There are no 50-cent-sized and 50-cent-shaped collar dies that have milling on them, so I would assume it's not a mint error. I would assume it's "tool damage", from a vise, pliers or something similar.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. The mark looks like the edge of a 20 cent piece. I will take some better pics in the daylight in the morning. Appreciate the relpy
