normally, i'd just go straight to plated, but the edge is really well done if that is the case...

Reminds me of the beach nickel that I soaked in acetone and scrubbed (do NOT do that to your coin!). http://goccf.com/t/446068&whichpage=2#3851503

Looking forward to what people have to say about this one. The color is intriguing.

lol, well, I don't think the acetone had anything to do with it...
sorry for crappy photos, but the color is very 'copper' (like old penny copper) and I couldn't find any 'new' scratches or nicks where silver is popping through. the only hint might be the weight, but I'm not sure what a copper quarter would weigh...

At a coin show this past weekend, one seller had not one, not two, but THREE "missing clad" Washington quarters that he had received in change over the years. His claim was based entirely on their color, which was quite similar to this one. I complimented him on his fortune, and moved to the next table.
