Guy, I am unable to find an example of this quarter with a leaf such as shown below, would it be classified as an extra leaf?

I've never seen this one, but I would be leaning toward a small die chip. See what others more experienced have to say.

What a well placed little die chip! I'd keep this one.

I understand that the 'extra leaf' variety was intentionally made by a mint employee defacing a production die - and they are quite obvious.

I agree this is not one of those but a well placed die chip.

Oh, it's not an extra leaf, in my opinion, it's an extra shuck.

I would see if acetone would get rid of some of the dark spots and pop that puppy in a 2x2 labeled 'Extra Shuck.' Someone on ebay would snap it up in a hurry!

I wish all die chips added to the design of the device like this one does.
