I purchased (overpaid!) this token recently as it was attributed to New Orleans. Unlisted in Crawford & Farber, and not on tokencatalog.
However, 3429 Burgundy is at the intersection with Gallier Street. The current building at that location is a recently built house, and I could not locate records prior to that. Many thanks for your assistance!
Obverse: Cafe Gallier / 3429 Burgundy St.
Reverse: Good for 5¢ Drink

Hi - this establishment seems to show up about the mid-1940s. Here is an advertisement from the New Orleans States newspaper. I believe the below is the findagrave listing for the proprietor, Lawrence J. Bouche (1906 - 1985)

If you think the token dates earlier, it very well could b/c this address shows up in the Saloon section of the New Orleans directory as early as 1897 but I didn't see the Cafe Gallier name until 1945.

Thank you once again, Brummagen! I went to the Library of Congress newspaper search site, but could find nothing when searching for Cafe Gallier. The name Gallier came up many times, but generally in tax records.
How can I credit you on tokencatalog?
By the way, Lawrence Bouche must have been well-off to afford a crypt like that!
