I am currently working on getting as many as I can manage. I am resigned to the fact I likely will never get ones like any of the 1793s or the like.

Never say never, it is surprising how many of the pieces on my "I'll never own one." list I have acquired over the years. When I started my early date collection I was just planning on a date set of the Draped bust cents. I knew I could never managed to collect the very early ones or go for the varieties. Then another collector who was getting out made me a deal I couldn't refuse on 30 different Draped bust varieties. Today I have 262 of the 295 Sheldon numbered varieties and 9 of the NC varieties. I have all four chain cents and I'm only lacking 2 of the numbered varieties from 1795 to 1814.
