Hi all, just got this coin and thought I would share the errors with you. The coin is a Geroge I 1718 Halfpenny, the first image is suppose to read GEO from george, and the second one should read REX. This coin is actuall Spink Ref 3659 with no stops on Ob. So I wonder does this make it even more valuable with these unlisted errors.?

That's an interesting coin!
I almost looks like both E in GEO and REX were first punched with a different letter, then repunched or engraved? Would that make this a different die than Spink Ref 3659?

I have looked at this under a loup and I cant tell if its an E over an R or an R over and E. I have checked a few books and Sites and I cant find any references to this error, Spink Ref 3659 is for 1717, 18, 19 Dump issues, this one is the 1718 no stops on obv variety which is listed as £150 GBP for FINE, I would say this one is possibly better than fine. Anyway, I only paid £7 for it online, so I doubt I will be selling it too soon.
