Hi!

I'm collecting 90% silver as survival money and a silver hedge. I just got a 1/4 bag of mixed 1/2 dollar coins and there were about 35 or so really shinny Kennedy's dated post 1965. The seller sez "they are circulated proof coins and are 90& silver. They weigh about 12.6 grams each as do my 65 Franklin's and they show no signs of being clad coins at the edges. Does anyone know if such coins exist? I got a 1/4 + bag of quarters from the same source and it contained 2 Jamaican dime in it and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to the wrong place to do business. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Welcome aboard.

As far as I know:

90% Silver issue (regular circulation in year 1964 P or D mint mark, silver proof sets from 1992 to date with S mint mark).

40% Silver-clad issues (regular circulation in years 1965-1970, proof set in years 1975-1976)

Copper-nickel clad issues (regular circulation from 1971 to date)

Could you post a list with dates and mint marks of what you purchased?

Also we like pictures.
