Possible Counter Clash Error 2004 P Nickel

Jblau190 Valued Member United States 78 Posts	Posted 08/07/2023 10:29 pm I came across this 2004 P nickel and on the reverse it appears to have a counter clash specifically I can see the flag and flagpole on right side of reverse of coin seems to show on the left side of the reverse on the left side of the coin. Is this considered a common error? I would have expected to see the clash on the obverse at least I had thought. Would this have happened from the image being clashed onto the obverse die then clashed again onto the reverse from the obverse? I would have expected the clash image to not be reversed of the original if the original image was transferred twice back onto the reverse die. Can anyone who knows what exactly I'm looking at here give me some info on what exactly is going on here please? Thanks in advance! You guys always give me the best information without failure. It shows where clash marks would be expected and helps with understanding what caused them. Click on the picture for a larger image A note on image size: I usually save my images for the CCF at 2200 x 1100 pixels so that these obverse/reverse image offers as much detail as possible. I'm running Windows 10 with Edge and it is set to automatically resize the image to fit the screen. If you are only getting the larger image, you may want to change your browser to the same so that the image can be seen without scrolling. I only get the larger image window if I click on the reduced picture or when I preview my post before sending it to the CCF.
