At first I thought these were die dents?

A Cud is a die break that involves the rim and at least a little bit of the adjacent field or design.

There's no 2008 Cud listed on Cuds.
Closest looking is 2007-01R. Just the looks.

What would you call this?

I am not sure what that is. Maybe you can contact Mike Diamond, if you want an answer.

I don't see it as a Cud. Not really sure what it is.

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting.
I'm not sure what it could be either. Just thought it's neat and different.
Toothpicks didn't do anything to them.
Do you think that the die could've done this? Involving the rim and field?

Check out what the copper plating has done. ( white arrows).
The crack on the edge of rim. (black arrows)
Where did all this copper come from? ( red arrow )

On Error-Ref.com.
This looks like maybe some sort of Peripheral Die Damage.

Do you think on this coin the design rim has been affected?
